Experience & Training

I am a certified acupressurist technician (CAT) with over 750 hours of training. A graduate of the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, CA, I specialize in Emotional Balancing and Traditional Asian Therapies. Additional training includes Jin Shin Jyutsu, mantra meditation, and yogic stretching.

I have had a private practice since 2001. My training includes Five-Element Acupressure, Jin Shin Jyutsu, Wind & Water Tui Na, Chinese meridian theory, anatomy, neuromuscular techniques, reflexology, aromatherapy, and Chinese patent herbs.

Session Pricing

Your first session is "pay what you want," to encourage you to try the acupressure experience.

After your initial session, I work on a sliding scale ranging from $50 to $85 for a 70 minute session. Half-hour follow-up sessions are available within a week of a standard session for $20.

Half-hour sessions are available for $30.

What to Wear

Wear loose, comfortable clothes for your session, and refrain from using fragrances, as aromatherapy is often part of sessions.

Remember to drink plenty of water in the 24 hours after your session, to keep your body flush and fresh.

For 70 Minutes the Focus is on You

Encourage a profound state of relaxation
Release what no longer works for you
Rejuvenate your spirit

Sessions are given fully-clothed. We begin with an essential oil foot massage and a brief interview about what's going on with you physically and emotionally, including what you want from your session. Utilizing the traditional assessment tools of Chinese medicine (pulse, tongue and body reading), I shape a session that is uniquely yours.

On the bodywork table, we start with the soothing strokes and stretches of Wind & Water Tui Na (Tway Nah) – a bodywork style reminiscent of Thai Massage – to remove gross levels of stress in the body.

After firmly yet gently opening the body up, we move on to more subtle acupressure work, using gentle finger pressure, special tuning forks, and Jin Shin Jyutsu. By holding combinations of particular areas of the body, we target irregular energy patterns and help them release. In this phase, dynamic and systemic shifts occur in the body-mind. Clients often enter a dream-like state of relaxation during this part of the session.

At the close of a session, we discuss simple self-care techniques that you can practice on your own to help integrate and extend the relaxation and rejuevenating experience of your session.
